Anyway...

1) All tickets for the first 30 days of the stadium also served as a metro pass allowing use of any masstransit to and from the stadium. (The three of us did not quite figure out how to utilize the masstransit but saw it in various areas - I think we didn't want to "Ride the Rocket!")

2) Sexual acts were seen from the stadium of people within the rooms - A couple was on the JumboTron during one of the first games engaging in "romantic activities." Another man was seen masturbating during a game and later told Sports Illustrated that he thought the glass was one-way. Therefore, people staying in those rooms since 1990 have had to sign a disclaimer that they will not engage in any activities that they would not engage in if they were sitting in the stadium when the shades are open.

3) It was one of the most expensive stadiums build C$570M. Which is scheduled to be easily surpassed by the new Yankee's stadium $800M; however, it could be argued that the SkyDome's price in 1984 if adjusted for inflation would be $1.2B today.

4) During 2004 the SkyDome became the last stadium in MLB to have Astro-Turf.

5) The roof weighs 11,000 tonnes and contains a volume of 56.5 million cubic feet. And the "Ceiling height" is 310 feet - or large enough for a 31 story building to fit snuggly under the closed dome.

6) The 11,000 tonne roof can be opened and closed in 20 minutes. 91% of the seats and 100% of the field are exposed when the roof is fully opened. More area was going to be covered; however, it was decided to allow the patrons of the hotel an opportunity to have outdoor dining under a partial roof.

7) The roof covers 8 acres.

8) The displays at the stadium are capable of 4.3 trillion colours. The main board is 110' by 33' (or the size of an 11 story building on its side). But the screens are only 2" thick. If a portion of the scoreboard or any of the other dispays were to be damaged during game play they could be replaced instantly.

9) 46 Completely filled hot air balloons (world record for an enclosed area) have been on the field at the same time.

10) One of only 2 "Western Hemisphere" stadiums to host Australian Rules Football on a full-sized field.
